Former Big Brother Naija contestant, Bisola Aiyeola, will be attending the 72nd session of the UN general assembly in New York to campaign for girls’ education.
The campaign aims to increase the access and quality of education for girls in Nigeria, with an emphasis on the northern part of Nigeria.
Aiyeola will be going as ONE ambassador, a role she won while participating in the ‘Back to School’ presentation task during the reality show.
At the time, the actress had called on Nigerian lawmakers to prioritise girls’ education.
Other ambassadors of the ONE campaign include Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Bonang Matheba, and Waje Iruobe.
While commenting on the presentation, Serah Makka, ONE Nigeria’s director, said she was excited Bisola emerged top in the task, amongst others:
“We are proud to congratulate Bisola! Her presentation was very moving as she highlighted the status of girls education,” she said. ONE looks forward to working with her to take our Campaign to the United Nations General Assembly in New York this September. During the UN General Assembly we will ask Nigerian and other African leaders to make education work for every girl by 2030, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4.”
The event, which will last for a week, will be attended by various world leaders.
The movie tells the story of a couple – Kate and Debo played by Adesua Etomi and new comer, Uzor Arukwe.
Debo has just returned home after 6 years in prison where he was locked up for killing his father. How does a murderer leave jail after 6 years? Watch this movie to find out.
Debo comes home to a cold reception from his wife and as he tries to grapple with his new reality and limited access to his heartthrob, his rage bobs up to the surface. He is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. He has anger management issues and the only person who seems immune to his rage is his ex-girlfriend Bella aka Ama played by Sika Osei.
Run to the Cinema now to see how this all unveils.
Remember how exciting it was back then watching Richard Mofe-Damijo and Ego Boyo co-star in Amaka Igwe’s ‘Checkmate’ and in the iconic movie ‘Violated’???
Well, a few decades after they both became national movie stars, Ego Boyo and RMD have reunited for a new television comedy/drama: ‘The Mr X Family Show’.
According to Mofe-Damijo, he and Boyo are “pretty excited” about the new television series which he produces.
In his words:
“My journey with Ego Boyo @officialegoboyo started nearly 30 years ago, our first encounter being on the production of CHECKMATE when my dear friend Amaka Igwe pulled me in as the villain Segun Kadiri on the highly coveted TV series. One of the most remarkable things about Ego is that despite the fact that she is born with a silver spoon into the family of the highly respected late Justice Nnamani she was super disciplined (she still is), very humble and extremely committed. Our status as Nigerian TV sweethearts rose with the movie VIOLATED as ‘Tega’ and ‘Peggy’ became the toast of Violated fans. Since then Ego has gone ahead to becoming wife, mother, accomplished business woman and the president of International Women’s Society. Over 25 years later Tega and Peggy are back together again on my new TV “DramCom” The Mr X Family Show. I can only hope that getting back together again on TV will tickle fans of Ann Hathrope and Segun Kadiri and the fans of Tega and Peggy who have been craving to have them grace their TV screens again.”
I am overly excited and can’t wait to see this one. Who’s with me????
Omotola Receives Best Actress Award From The Nollywood Travel Film Festival For The Movie: ‘Alter Ego’
Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has received an award for best actress from the Nollywood Travel Film Festival in Toronto.
Omotola was recognised for her lead role in the movie ‘Alter Ego’ where she played the character of Ada, a successful law attorney who has an unrelenting passion for prosecuting sex offenders.
Omotola announced her win via her Instagram page yesterday.
Congratulations Omo Sexy, you totally deserve it.
With the end of the year gradually approaching and lots of awards coming with it, seems there’s no stopping Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi.
The beautiful soon to be wife of Nigerian musician Bankole Wellington aka Bank W, is already bagging loads of nominations ranging from Face of Nollywood, to Best supporting Nollywood actress, Best Nollywood actress in a lead role, etc.
Keep soaring Adesua.
It’s no news anymore that some Nollywood actresses like Mercy Aigbe, Tonto Dike, etc, have been having marital issues due to domestic violence and they have been very open about it of which I must commend them for. I believe it’s good to speak out about such things not caring about what people would say, rather than keep quiet and allow the perpetrator to continue.
For Mercy Aigbe Gentry, ever since she came out open about hers she has been seen everywhere without her wedding rings but recently, she was spotted at a function with her wedding rings fully on as seen in the picture above.
There are now speculations as to whether she’s reconciling with her husband. My opinion? Mercy did not become vocal about the domestic violence issue in her marriage because she wanted the marriage to end. Rather, she wanted a change. And if Mr Gentry is truly and honestly wiling to give her that desired change, then there’s no harm in her going back to her husband.
PS: Mercy knows how to slay shaaaaaa!!!!
There are currently speculations about P-Square having issues and wanting to break up due to the fact that Peter has been putting up some very funny posts on social media which is making their fans feel like there is trouble in La La Land.
You know what I think? Whether you want to or not, it’s my blog and I am definitely going to talk.
I think these twins have learnt perfectly well from their Hollywood counterparts. Whereby if you feel like you aren’t getting enough attention then stir up some controversy in order to get all the much desired attention.
Kuddos guys, its working.
